PakPlug is a peer-to-peer electric-vehicle (EV) charging marketplace.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we share it, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
You provide:
Account details — name and email address, via Firebase Authentication / Google Sign-In.
Phone number — for account and booking coordination (stored encrypted).
Charging station details (hosts) — station name, address, pricing, photos, and availability (address stored encrypted).
User content — chat messages, in-app voice call audio, reviews and ratings.
Collected automatically:
Precise location — to show nearby charging stations on the map and give directions. Used only while you use the relevant features; we do not collect background location.
Bookings, charging sessions, and billing records — times, amounts, and status.
Device & diagnostic data — push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and crash/error and performance data (via Sentry) to keep the app stable.
Device permissions we request (and why):
Location — find nearby stations and navigate.
Camera — scan a station QR code to start a charging session (images are not stored).
Microphone — in-app voice calls between driver and host.
Notifications — booking, session, and chat alerts.
Display over other apps / foreground service — show a live charging-status pill and keep a session updated while charging.
2. How we use information
Provide and operate the marketplace: discovery, booking, charging sessions, billing, reviews, and host–driver communication.
Send transactional notifications and emails (e.g. booking confirmed, session completed).
Maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug crashes.
Improve pricing and demand features using aggregated, non-identifying usage data.
3. How we share information
With other users as needed for a transaction — e.g. a host sees a driver's first name and booking; a driver sees a host's station and display name. We do not share your email or phone number with other users.
Service providers that process data on our behalf:
Google Firebase (authentication, push notifications) — Google LLC
MongoDB Atlas (database hosting)
Sentry (crash and performance monitoring)
Mapbox (maps and geocoding)
Email delivery provider (transactional email)
Fly.io (application hosting)
Legal — if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal data, and the app contains no advertising.
4. Data retention and security
Data is kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service or meet legal/accounting obligations.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sensitive fields (phone number, vehicle license plate, station address) are encrypted at rest.
5. Your choices and rights
Access/update your profile in the app.
Delete your account — the app provides account deletion, which removes your profile and associated personal data (subject to limited records we must retain by law). You can also email us at pakplugpk@gmail.com.
Permissions — you can revoke location, camera, microphone, or notification permissions in your device settings (some features will stop working).
6. Children
PakPlug is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. International users
The service is operated for use in Pakistan. If you use it elsewhere, your data may be processed in countries where our providers operate.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the "Effective date" above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
